VIENNA (9 August 2012). – The fourth edition of the international industry and trade fair “VIENNA-TEC” is lying ahead, starting in only a few weeks. From October 9 to 12, 2012, app. 520 exhibitors from 13 nations (Note: status as of August 2012) will come to Messe Wien and will present innovations and novelties at the 6 trade fairs integrated into the “VIENNA-TEC”: “Automation Austria”, “Energy-Tec”, “IE Industrieelektronik” (IE – Industrial Electronics), “Intertool”, “Messtechnik” (Metrology) und “SCHWEISSEN/JOIN-EX” (Welding/Join-Ex). The “VIENNA-TEC” is one of the major trade fairs Messe Wien. At the same time the “VIENNA-TEC” is a significant signal for the business location Austria which will be proudly presenting the strengths of the Austrian industry during the four fair days. Exciting will also be the look to the industry novelties from Austria’s neighbouring regions of the CEE and SEE (Central, Eastern and South Eastern European) countries that are to be expected for this year’s edition of the “VIENNA-TEC”. It is a fact that the “VIENNA-TEC” has been regarded since its very beginnings as an important presentation platform for trade and industry by nations such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, and, in addition to this, is also a significant exchange and contact platform between Austria and the CEE/SEE regions. On the other side, new guests of the “VIENNA-TEC” will be companies and exhibitors from the Eurasian regions which are becoming increasingly important for Austrian companies. With renowned exhibitors and business delegations from Eurasian regions such as for instance Ukraine, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan this has become a promising geographical extension of the outstanding profile of “VIENNA-TEC”.
TECHNICAL SECTION:
Manufacturing technology – fast and preciseBefore the start of the “VIENNA-TEC” first tendencies of the industry novelties are already apparent which will be presented from October 9 to 12 directly at Messe Wien. This time, a first preview is dedicated to the areas of the two trade fairs “INTERTOOL” and “SCHWEISSEN/JOIN-EX” where trade visitors can learn the latest about the entire area of manufacturing technology.
Machining – from weighing tons to feather-lightAt the “VIENNA-TEC 2012” visitors from all industries are expected – from the metal-processing suppliers, automotive and aerospace industries, mechanical engineering, medical engineering, tool and mould making as well as from the electric engineering and energy industries.
There is one thing all industries have in common – the challenges are increasing. Today, the handlers turn, mill, drill and grind increasingly complex parts (for instance delicate gears or parts for medical engineering), “rock-hard” material such as Titan, and produce often in greatly varying batch sizes, ranging from single items to several thousand parts and additionally in a large variety of types. The weight of the work pieces demonstrate an enormous range – from feather light precision parts to objects weighing several tons like for instance for the energy technology or mechanical engineering. But no matter which processing task is at stake, the providers at the “VIENNA-TEC 2012” will present technologically optimized and economically efficient solutions for practically every challenge.
“Live” and in operation shown will be 5 axis CNC processing centres, universal lathes and milling machines and CNC vertical lathes (AXA, Chiron, DMG/Mori Seiki, Hermle, Hurco, Index, Metzler and Traub), micro milling machines (Haas) as well as long lathe machines (Helmer) for bar machining, electrical discharge machines (Agie Charmilles, precisa) and high performance grinding machines (Schirnhofer). It is to be taken for granted that every visitor will make a find, whether a budget-friendly standard machine or an individual high-tech solution.
Also very interesting is the “alliance” of the companies EMAG, GGW Gruber, Hermle, Westcam, Wedco and Zoller under the label “Process Chain” - they will be presenting the continuous manufacturing process, starting from the CAD/CAM programming including measurement technology and ranging to the precise cutting/machining of cubic and shaft-type components at a common fair stand. This “bundled solution competence” as they call this is thought to avoid the often tiresome interface problems and to ensure a continuously optimized manufacturing process.
Precise cutStill a current trend in precision tools is the increase of replaceable head tools as a in-part alternative to solid carbide tools and also to complex tools with which all possibilities of machine-tools can be used even better. The modern tool concepts of Mapal, Metzler, Scheinecker or Wedco will convince the trade visitors at the fair stands.
Bending and cantingThe trade visitor can gather information about precise bending and canting of metal sheets for instance at Trumpf and Schachermayer. The robust folding press with ultra-modern hydraulic systems and automatic controls bend even small part fast and precisely. And with a new smartphone app by Trumpf the sheet metal worker can simply and quickly calculate the main bending parameters.
Welding and cuttingIn the area of the “SCHWEISSEN/JOIN-EX” (Welding/Join-Ex) app. 50 companies will present solutions for welding, cutting and testing processes. Today in the welding and joining technology higher speeds and deposition rates are demanded. And the handlers want more often join different materials: steel, aluminium, non-ferrous metals or “difficult” alloys and all that in material thicknesses of a few milimetres to some centimeters. For welding and joining tasks such as these the trade and industry handlers will find new and optimized solutions at the fair stands of for instance ABB, Aigner, Binzel, Böhler, Cloos, Fronius, igm, Kemppi, Lasaco, Merkle, Orbitalum, Yaskawa. There, amongst others, high-quality power sources, products for orbital welding, ergonomic burners and weld filler metals for medium to high alloyed materials, will be presented. Also, the visitors will find specialists in solutions for non-destructive material testing like for instance Mittli.
Opening hours and detailsThe “VIENNA-TEC” will be open from Tuesday, October 9, to Thursday, October 11, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, October 12, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please find all details on exhibitors, side programme and further general information about the “VIENNA-TEC” always updated at www.vienna-tec.at (+++)
